As the nation observes Veterans Day, Michigan’s beer and wine distributors are taking the opportunity to recognize the contributions of veteran employees who continue to make a difference in their communities. Across the state, these businesses are paying tribute to the men and women who have served in the military, honoring their dedication both on the battlefield and in the workforce.

The significance of November 11 dates back to 1918, when an armistice was signed to end World War I. The day is now set aside to honor all veterans, acknowledging their service and sacrifices. For the distributors that employ veterans, today is a chance to reflect on how military service shapes not only individuals but also the companies and communities they contribute to.

Among the distributors participating in this statewide recognition are three prominent companies: Alliance Beverage Distributing, Great Lakes Wine & Spirits, and Fabiano Brothers. These family-owned businesses employ veterans across Michigan and are proud to highlight their contributions to both the beverage industry and their local communities.

Alliance Beverage Distributing, based in Grand Rapids, is one of the companies recognizing veterans this Veterans Day. With over 450 employees serving more than 5,000 customers across western Michigan, the company is deeply committed to honoring the service of its veteran team members. Tim Sullivan, vice president of logistics at Alliance, noted the invaluable qualities that veterans bring to the workforce.
