Located inside the Trinity Health/LC Walker Arena, home of the Muskegon Lumberjacks, Rad Dads Tacos & Tequila offers a surprising fusion of casual dining and sports culture. This taco and tequila bar, with its rink-side seating, delivers a unique experience where patrons can enjoy flavorful Mexican-inspired dishes while taking in the excitement of live hockey or a local open skating session. It’s a place where the vibrant atmosphere of a sporting event meets the laid-back vibe of a taco joint, making it a perfect stop for anyone looking to enjoy a meal before or after hitting the ice.
The Food
Rad Dads’ menu is a straightforward yet flavorful take on tacos, with a variety of options that cater to both traditional tastes and adventurous palates. The tacos come in both flour and corn tortillas and feature a variety of fillings from classic ground beef and chicken to more unique options like Korean marinated bulgogi and pulled pork. The “Pound Town Tuesday” special offers tacos for just $1 each, making it an ideal day to sample different varieties, such as the traditional taco with onions and cilantro, or the more basic option of cheese, lettuce, and tomato.
One standout taco on the menu is The Dictator, featuring Korean bulgogi marinated beef. The tender, savory beef is balanced by a mix of fresh toppings that complement the bold flavors of the marinated meat. For anyone seeking a rich and hearty option, The Cubano is a must-try. It’s a taco-inspired version of a Cuban sandwich, loaded with pulled pork, Swiss cheese, fried pork belly, crispy onions, and Dijon aioli, all wrapped in a soft flour tortilla. Though not quite a traditional Cuban sandwich, it’s a deliciously indulgent option that combines sweet, salty, and savory in every bite.
Aside from tacos, the menu also includes a variety of tequila-based cocktails, margaritas, and local beers, perfect for washing down the tacos and enhancing the overall experience. The margaritas are balanced and refreshing, making them a good companion for any of the spiced-up taco options.
What truly sets Rad Dads apart is its unique location inside the Trinity Health (formerly LC Walker) Arena, the home rink of the Muskegon Lumberjacks. The bar offers a prime view of the ice rink, where visitors can watch live hockey practices or games, or enjoy open skating during the arena’s off-hours. The atmosphere is casual and inviting, with a mix of local patrons, families, and hockey fans creating an energetic yet relaxed vibe.
The décor combines the energetic ambiance of a sports bar with the warmth of a neighborhood taco joint. The space is designed with long barstools, high-top tables, and plenty of seating, allowing guests to easily view the rink while enjoying their food and drinks. It’s a great spot for families looking to make a day of it—grab some tacos, have a margarita, and then hit the ice for an open skate. The blend of dining and sports is a fun and unique draw, especially for anyone looking for something different than the usual arena food court offerings.
Rad Dads Tacos & Tequila stands out for its distinctive concept: a taco and tequila bar located inside a bustling ice arena. It’s not every day that you can grab a bite to eat while watching a hockey team practice or enjoying a family outing on the ice. This makes Rad Dads an especially appealing choice for those looking to combine food and recreation in one place. Whether you’re a local or just visiting Muskegon, it offers a perfect spot to fuel up before or after a game or skate, with delicious food and drinks that are a cut above what you’d expect at a typical arena concession stand.
Rad Dads’ Tacos & Tequila Bar, located at 470 Western Ave. Suite A, Muskegon, is Sunday – Thursday, 11 a.m. – 10 p.m. and Friday–Saturday, 11 a.m.–Midnight.
