Grand Rapids Taco Week is underway, giving taco lovers a delicious excuse to explore local restaurants, try something new and score tacos for just $3 with the GR Taco Week app at grtacoweek.com.

Running now through Oct. 18, the citywide food event features 10 participating locations across Grand Rapids, Wyoming and Rockford, each offering its own take on the beloved taco. From slow-cooked pork barbacoa and classic street tacos to creative combinations topped with barbecue sauce, there’s plenty to tempt your taste buds.

And there’s a little friendly competition involved, too.

Taco Week participants can check in at four restaurants during the week to be entered into a drawing for the Grand Rapids Taco Week grand prize. The person who racks up the most points by the end of the event will earn the title of Biggest Taco Lover in Grand Rapids.

Check In, Rack Up Points and Eat More Tacos

Grand Rapids Taco Week is about more than finding a great deal. With 10 participating locations, it’s an opportunity to explore restaurants around the area while competing for bragging rights as the city’s biggest taco fan.

Download or open the GR Taco Week app, check in at four participating restaurants to qualify for the grand-prize drawing, and keep collecting points throughout the week. The participant with the most points at the end of the event will claim the Biggest Taco Lover in Grand Rapids title.

The event runs through Oct. 18, so there’s still time to plan a taco crawl, bring along friends and sample a few different styles along the way.

More Food Weeks Are on the Way

And if you’re already loving the chance to eat your way around town, there’s more good news: Organizers have announced two additional themed food events — Pizza Week and Pasta Week.

That means more opportunities to explore local restaurants, discover new favorites and enjoy special deals are on the horizon. Keep an eye out for announcements about the upcoming weeks.

For now, though, it’s all about the tacos. Grab the GR Taco Week app, map out your stops and get eating before Oct. 18!
