The Salvation Army Grand Rapids Adult Rehabilitation Center will celebrate the grand re-opening of its newly renovated Main Thrift Store, located at 1491 Division Ave. S. The public is invited to shop and donate at the updated store starting on Saturday, Dec. 14, with doors opening at 9 a.m.
The newly refreshed space promises a vibrant shopping experience, offering a wide range of gently used and new items, including clothing, shoes, handbags, housewares, furniture, collectibles, and more. Whether you’re searching for a unique find or everyday essentials, the store is fully stocked with items to suit every need.
“We are thrilled to unveil our updated thrift store to the community,” said Envoy Jacqulynn Idzior, administrator for business at The Salvation Army Grand Rapids ARC. “The expansion promises a wider selection of merchandise and an improved layout of the store, promising our shoppers a seamless shopping experience. We invite local shoppers and donors to join us on the opening day to shop and celebrate the beautifully renovated space.”
The Salvation Army’s thrift stores are a critical part of its mission. Proceeds from all eight locations, including the Main Thrift Store, directly support the Adult Rehabilitation Center, which helps individuals overcome substance abuse and reintegrate into society. The grand re-opening will be a special occasion for the local community, offering a chance to shop for a good cause and learn more about the services the Salvation Army provides. The store will be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
Donation pickups are available
In addition to shopping, the public is encouraged to donate gently used items to the store. Donations can be dropped off at most Salvation Army locations, which are open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday. For those who prefer a more convenient option, free donation pickups are available and can be scheduled online at satruck.org/donate.
