Founders Brewing Co. has added a new flavor to its Barrel-Aged Series lineup and is bringing back another.

The Grand Rapids-based brewery said last month it will be rolling out the new KBS Cinnamon Vanilla Cocoa in October, as well as bringing back the “fan favorite” KBS Espresso variant it first launched in fall 2019.

While KBS is already brewed with coffee and chocolate, KBS Cinnamon Vanilla brings those flavors “to the next level” with a swirl of cinnamon and a hint of vanilla to create “a sweet-but-not-too-sweet” barrel-aged drinking experience, Founders said of the 12% ABV Cinnamon Vanilla beer.

KBS Espresso gives the standard bourbon barrel-aged stout an “extra oomph” by aging the brew on espresso beans after it’s removed from barrels.

“The result is a fresh and snappy coffee twist on our classic barrel-aged beer,” Founders said. KBS Espresso also clocks in at 12% ABV.

The two new KBS flavors will join the original KBS brew — available year-round — in four-packs of 12-ounce bottles and on draft starting this October.
