The Grand Rapids Police Department is asking for community members’ help in locating a suspect.

According to a statement issued by the City of Grand Rapids Public Information Officer the suspect is alleged to have been involved in multiple “B&Es,” referring to more than 30 burglaries at liquor stores and dispensaries.

A media release from the City of Grand Rapids identifies this image as that of Nehemiah Chilton, wanted in connection to a string of over 30 burglaries at liquor stores and dispensaries.

Nehemiah Chilton (pictured at left), aged 18, is wanted in connection to a string of incidents that began in early July and have taken place throughout the Grand Rapids area–  the most recent being earlier this week. Chilton is tied also to additional break-ins within Kent County and West Michigan, the statement says. These include break-ins in the Portage/Kalamazoo area, as well. He has also been linked to nine separate stolen vehicles within GRPD’s jurisdiction– vehicles that were used in the break-ins.

Three of his known associates have been arrested and are facing a variety of charges. GRPD is asking for help in regard to any information on Nehemiah Chilton’s whereabouts.

If seen, members of the public should not approach Chilton. Instead, contact the GRPD detective unit at (616) 456-3380. Tips can be sent anonymously at (616) 774-2345 or on the Silent Observer website.
