Cyclists and adventure enthusiasts are invited to register for the much-anticipated Lakeshore Harvest Ride, set to take place on Saturday, September 14, 2024. This scenic event offers a unique opportunity to experience the rich tapestry of Southwest Michigan’s countryside, where participants can engage their senses through a carefully curated route featuring wineries, cider mills, microbreweries, family farms, orchards, and art studios.
The Lakeshore Harvest Ride promises a delightful exploration of the region’s finest offerings while supporting a significant local project. Riders will traverse routes that range from 15 to 62 miles, contributing to the development of the Blue Star Trail—a planned 20-mile paved, non-motorized, shared-use recreational path designed to connect Saugatuck to South Haven. The trail aims to enhance safety, promote wellness, boost economic health, and improve environmental sustainability.
Participants will have the chance to visit several notable stops along the way, including Bumbleberry Acres, Cogdal Vineyards, Virtue Cider, Summerhouse Lavender Farm, Whiteford Family Farm, Root Café Coffeehouse & Spirits, Fenn Valley Vineyards, Waypost Brewing, Brush Farms, and Overhiser Orchards. While the list of stops may be subject to change, each location offers a unique experience that highlights the region’s agricultural and artisanal heritage.
Registration fees for the event range from $27.50 to $50, with a discount available for those who register by September 8, 2024. Groups of 3 to 10 riders can enjoy a $10 discount per person, and T-shirts must be ordered by September 2, 2024, to ensure availability.
For those eager to experience the natural beauty and local flavors of Southwest Michigan while supporting a worthwhile cause, the Lakeshore Harvest Ride presents an unmissable opportunity.
