The Cheesecake Factory is set to open its first West Michigan location.
The restaurant chain will open its doors on Nov. 5. in an 8,500-square-foot space at Woodland Mall in Kentwood, at 3195 28th St. SE. The chain’s other Michigan location is in Novi.
The chain is known for its extensive menu and generous portions.
The restaurant will feature a bakery with over 30 varieties of the titular cheesecake, as well as a bar with a cocktail menu.
The chain, based in Calabasas Hills, California, ranks No. 1 in food quality and ambience, according to a Nations Restaurant News’ Consumer Picks survey.
The Cheesecake Factory at Woodland Mall is staffed by 299 employees.
Woodland Mall owner PREIT announced in March it executed a lease with The Cheesecake Factory.
The restaurant chain considers several factors when opening a new restaurant, including population density and mall foot traffic, said Alethea Rowe, senior director of public relations, The Cheesecake Factory.
The recent and ongoing expansions at Woodland Mall, including the newly opened Von Maur wing, were particularly attractive to the company, Rowe said.
