Brunch has become quite a thing.
The meal that was once largely associated with octogenarians, bottomless coffee, eggs and toast has gotten a pretty serious makeover in recent years. And Grand Rapids has been right there for it, with restaurants turning brunch into everything from a weekend social event to an excuse to try something decidedly more interesting than the standard breakfast plate.
Last year, before summer officially got underway, we dug into some of the best brunches around Grand Rapids with our Brunch Guide. Now, as summer heads toward the finish line, there’s another option making its way onto the local brunch scene — and this one comes wrapped up.
Morning Belle has introduced a limited-time build-your-own wrap menu at its four Grand Rapids locations, offering diners a chance to take their brunch in a few different directions.
The concept is simple enough: choose a tortilla or griddled naan, add two eggs cooked to order, and then pick a flavor profile.

But these aren’t exactly your grandmother’s breakfast wraps.
“We wanted guests to have their flavors the way they want,” said Mike Thorp, director of operations for Morning Belle. “So we brought in flavors like shaved ribeye and curried aioli and let people choose their own adventure.”
Specifically he is referring to a dish called the Fifth Sense Ribeye, which brings together shaved ribeye, caramelized onions, sautéed mushrooms, green chilies, provolone, orange glaze and chipotle aioli into an inventive new dish.
Other wrap flavors like the Chicken Tinga Tango takes things in a different direction, offering diners flavors that originate from originates from the state of Puebla, Mexico. There’s also a Smoky Baja Chorizo wrap, pairing local chorizo with sweet potatoes, roasted poblanos and smoky sriracha sour cream.
And because brunch menus these days generally need to acknowledge that not everyone wants meat, there’s Earth & Vine, a vegetarian combination of roasted artichoke hearts, tri-colored quinoa, fried garlic and creamy pesto aioli.
Each comes with citrus mixed greens and blue corn tortilla chips.
The new menu is available through September 7, 2026, giving diners a relatively short window to check it out. Morning Belle’s four locations are on Bridge Street, Wilson Avenue, in Breton Village and on East Beltline.
And, of course, what’s brunch without a little indulgence? Alongside the new wraps, Morning Belle is adding three seasonal drinks to the menu: a Spicy Strawberry Margarita, Dark Mojito and Pineapple Bourbon Lemonade.
So, is this the next evolution of brunch? Maybe not. But it is another example of how far the meal has wandered from its once-staid reputation.
These days, brunch can be sweet, savory, boozy, globally inspired, vegetarian, over-the-top — or, apparently, wrapped in naan.
And with summer giving us its final few weeks, there’s still time to find out which direction your brunch wants to go.
