Hudsonville Ice Cream wants you to time travel with your taste buds.

The Holland-based ice cream brand this month is introducing two limited-edition flavors — Crispy Cocoa Cereal and Peanut Butter & Jelly — that are available in stores from now until they sell out.

Hudsonville said the flavors were “created to tap into the nostalgia of being a child.”

Crispy Cocoa Cereal is meant to “spark fond memories of enjoying a bowl of cereal while watching Saturday morning cartoons.” The flavor is made with a brown butter ice cream base with a thick fudge ripple and bits of chocolate-covered rice cereal.

With a taste just like the classic sandwich packed for a school lunch, Peanut Butter & Jelly features peanut butter ice cream with a sweet strawberry jam swirl and crunchy peanut brittle pieces.

Both flavors were created to help celebrate National Eat Ice Cream for Breakfast Day on Feb. 1.

Hudsonville Ice Cream also will host a giveaway on its Facebook page from Jan. 21-24 that will give folks a chance to win one carton of each limited-edition flavor, an ice cream bowl and spoon, and a DVD of Saturday morning cartoons to watch on Eat Ice Cream for Breakfast Day.
