The city of Grand Rapids released its 2021-22 winter preparedness guide.

The annual guide offers residents a source of information regarding seasonal services, events and emergencies and is available at grandrapidsmi.gov/winter.

Guides from this and previous years also offer information on Christmas tree recycling, holiday refuse collection and emergency kits and emergency preparedness. The 2021-22 guide will include new information about safe winter driving, fires in the home and how to get emergency alerts sent to smartphones.

The guide also is available for PDF download in English and Spanish, and limited copies have been distributed to neighborhood associations, community groups and library branches for those with limited digital access.

Residents with questions or seeking additional information from the city can call 311 or (616) 456-3000.
