Woosah Outfitters is introducing its fall product line this week.

The lifestyle brand, which is located in downtown Grand Rapids, at 131 Division Ave. S., carries apparel, including t-shirts, hoodies and hats, as well as coffee mugs, stickers, patches and other outdoor gear, all made by owner Erica Lang.

Lang is a woodblock printmaker and the brand revolves around her woodcut graphics. Lang said for the first time Woosah will offer a series of woodcut wall hangings as part of its fall products.

“Traditionally, I never sell my actual woodcuts,” Lang said. “I just pull prints off of my carvings.” But, because customers kept asking to buy the actual woodcuts, Lang obliged by carving a series of forward reading woodcuts that shoppers can now purchase.

“There will be 12 total wall hangings and they are all original,” she said.

New fall products also include shirts, hats, a hoodie, and a new sticker and patch.

Lang said she will be selling items from a couple of outside brands this fall as well, something she’s never done before.

“I’m selling headlamps from Third Eye Headlamps and essential oils, sage and incense from Juniper Ridge,” she said. “The other brands are from California and they are super small and I feel like their brand values align well with mine.”

To celebrate the fall line, Woosah Outfitters is hosting a fall release party on Wednesday, Sept. 20 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. There will be free donuts, hard cider and regular cider available.

Lang will also kickoff her ArtPrize campaign, Respect Your Mother, on Wednesday. She partnered with Heart of the Lakes, a collective dedicated to environmental conservation in Michigan, on the campaign. She said the ArtPrize entry is more about the movement than the actual art.

“It’s a series of goods consciously created with the environment in mind, reusable insulated cups, reusable totes (for example),” she said. “And each day we are going to have an action item, meatless Monday, trashy Tuesday.”

A portion of the proceeds from the campaign will go to Heart of the Lakes.
