W.K. Kellogg Bird Sanctuary in Augusta introduced pages from a storybook to the trails for visitors to read as they walk.

Through a partnership with the Richland Community Library, the sanctuary also will provide self-guided activities to complement the trail stories, which will be updated by theme every two months. A reading list is available at the Richland Community Library.

The current theme is “Owls!” and will be complemented by a scavenger hunt and owl facts near the birds of prey area. In May, the theme will switch to “Frogs!”
