Organizers of the 2017 Grand Rapids Mud Run, a mud filled 5K, promise to up the anti this year with new obstacles and rearranged favorites.
Kyle Wood, Grand Rapids Mud Run race director, said this year’s course will be “better than ever before.” Runners can expect a new course, filled with mud pits, a 60-foot mudslide, tunnel crawls, wall obstacles and slippery hill climbs.
A barrel roll has been added to the course this year as well. The new obstacle will have runners climbing over a rotating tube while waist deep in slippery mud. Obstacle favorite, the double A has also been reimagined to make it quicker and more exciting.
The Grand Rapids Mud Run welcomes a wide range of participants – from highly competitive challenge-based runners, to group and team runs, costume-friendly runners and the Kid’s Mini Mudder fun run for children, ages 6-12.
