Ada + East is a new e-commerce business selling lifestyle products from home décor to women’s and children’s apparel. While the business is exclusively online for the time being, owner Kara Brace said brick and mortar might be a possibility in the future.

Brace left a 12-year career of working alongside husband Mark Brace, principal of Brace Homes, to focus on the dream of her own lifestyle/home décor shop, she said.

“I have quite a few makers that I source from a couple of large brands,” Kara Brace said. “I do support tons of small, local and female makers all over the country with the products I stock.”

Local female makers featured at Ada + East include Grand Rapids artist Hillary Dragon of Hillary Dragon Ceramics.

Ada + East is a member of 1% For the Planet, a global nonprofit where business partners commit to donating 1% of their revenue to support environmental solutions, regardless of whether or not they make a profit.
