Cameroon native Myra Maimoh will teach the class. She will teach attendees how to prepare three-course meals that represent different regions of Africa and also will show participants how to pair dishes with various wines, which will be complemented with songs and storytelling.

The featured dishes will include goat pepper soup, katikati with sauteed greens and corn fufu, and puff-puff with two dipping sauces.

“This cooking class combines food, music and storytelling into one unique program that will offer attendees an in-depth experience into Central African culture,” said Rob Schuitema, GRPM’s director of public programs. “The museum is happy to offer this program as part of our digital cultural celebration programming this fall.”

Class tickets are $40 with discounted pricing for museum members. Tickets must be purchased in advance online at grpm.org/calendar, and once registered, guests will receive a confirmation email with event details, including a shopping list, wine pairings and more. The ticket price does not include ingredients, which may be substituted for a vegetarian meal.
