The latest variant of Founders’ KBS will hit retail shelves in March.
Grand Rapids-based Founders Brewing Co. released KBS Hazelnut in four-packs of 12-ounce bottles and on draft in its Grand Rapids and Detroit taprooms on Wednesday, Feb. 16, and the new variant will be available across Founders’ 50-state distribution footprint beginning on March 1.
Pricing in the Founders taprooms will be $24 per four-pack. Retail prices will vary by market.
KBS, short for Kentucky Breakfast Stout, is a bourbon barrel-aged coffee stout that has existed in Founders’ lineup since 2003. The brewery has created many variations on it over the years. KBS Hazelnut “allows the existing premium coffee and chocolate notes to soar to new heights when accented by the nutty sweetness of hazelnut,” the brewery said.
“Hazelnut makes for a great infusion into coffee, so we decided to bring those flavors to our most epic coffee beer, KBS,” said Founders Brewmaster Jeremy Kosmicki. “It really adds another amazing layer of depth to an already perfectly balanced and complex beer.”
KBS Hazelnut has an ABV of 12%.
