Bell’s Brewery is adding a new beer to its lineup, called Rind Over Matter, this month as Oberon season comes to an end.

Rind Over Matter is a part of the brewery’s new Wheat Series. The American wheat ale is 5% ABV with lemon and orange taste. It has a lighter malt profile than Oberon, which highlights the citrus notes. The beer will be available through October in bottles, cans and draft at all of Bell’s distribution sites.

“The first thing you are going to notice is this beautiful light color, followed by very expressive notes of lemon and orange,” Andy Farrell, brewing innovation manager, said. “People are going to love this, especially those looking for an alternative while Oberon is away for the winter.”

“One of the things we do really well is wheat beers,” Larry Bell, president and founder of Bell’s Brewery said. “People have always been drawn to that style, they are very popular and approachable. It made sense for us to lean into that more and give our fans and customers a wide range of choices throughout the year.”

In addition to Rind Over Matter, Bell’s wheat series will include Uberon, an 11.3% ABV bourbon barrel-aged version of Oberon. It is on store shelves, coolers and at Bell’s General Store and Eccentric Café. Uberon can be shipped in 12 oz bottles and packaged in four-packs.

In November, Bell’s will offer its Belgian-inspired wheat, Bright White. In mid to late December, a brand-new low-calorie option will follow in this series before Oberon returns in March 2022.

Oberon will still be on store shelves while supplies last. There will not be any new shipments from the brewery until next year, except shipments to Florida and Arizona where Oberon is available year-round.
