A local maker of bloody mary mix has expanded its lineup.

Grand Rapids-based Brewt’s, which is behind the all-natural Brewt’s Bloody Mary mix, recently announced the debut of Brewt’s Bloody Caesar Mix, Brewt’s Consuela’s Hot Sauce line and new packaging.

Brewt’s Bloody Caesar, a sister recipe to the bloody mary mix, is another gluten-free, handcrafted cocktail mix using garden- and ocean-fresh ingredients. Bloody Caesar features wild-caught clam juice, hand-squeezed lemons and limes and Brewt’s own pickled jalapeno brine. It can be mixed with vodka, tequila, gin or beer.

Brewt’s new hot sauce line includes Consuela’s Serrano, Consuela’s Habanero and Consuela’s Arbol. Unlike thinner, vinegar-based sauces, Brewt’s says its hot sauces promise a richer flavor profile carrying the natural heat of each specific pepper.

The Bloody Caesar and each flavor of Consuela’s hot sauce can be purchased online and be found at stores throughout the Midwest starting in 2020.

Brewt’s was founded in Grand Rapids in 2015 by CEO Emily Griffen and operating partner Luke Alan.

It started off as an early entry into the natural, handcrafted cocktail mix market with a healthier alternative to standard, high-sugar bloody mary mix.

The original Brewt’s Bloody Mary recipe was made in Griffen’s kitchen. The mix can now be found in over 1,800 locations throughout the Midwest, including venues such as Ford Field.
