The Arts Marketplace at Studio Park is launching a new retail and event space.
The Pop Up Room is opening during Small Business Saturday from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Nov. 27, at the Arts Market Place at Studio Park, at 121 Ionia Ave. SW in downtown Grand Rapids.
The event will include music, beverages and an opportunity to take a photo in front of the entry wall that showcases a mosaic woodwork designed by Grand Rapid’s artist Shannon Mack.
The 800-square-foot Pop Up Room was designed by Tiffany Eden Design to provide space for short- and long-term retailers who want sales support, a dressing room and to host seasonal events to feature products and artists. The Pop Up Room can display large items such as textiles, clothing and woodcraft.
“This is a beautiful way to meet a significant need,” said Tova Jones, board member of the Arts Marketplace at Studio Park. “Many of the minority- and women-owned businesses featured have great products and yet limited bandwidth for managing retail. Support from our platinum partner Acrisure has really given us capacity to give these businesses a boost while offering the community a shopping experience full of delightful surprises.”
During this holiday season, the Arts Marketplace Pop Up Room will showcase between 15 and 20 local businesses, including longer term tenants Public Thread and Confident Wear.
This year’s seasonal merchants include Treetops Collective, Juices by Elaine, Planters by Laurel Olsen, Soldadera Coffee, Lief Design, Occasions Baskets & Gifts, Cognificent Kids, Wear your Curls, Minty Boutique, WE are LIT Bookstore, Guelaguetza Designs and Under the Woods.
New merchants will rotate each season. More information is available here.
