Ada Village has a new gem in its crown with the opening of the much-anticipated Ada Hotel. Officially welcoming guests on Tuesday, this 36-room boutique hotel is set to become a landmark at 7415 River Street, offering visitors stunning views of the Thornapple River and an experience steeped in the village’s rich heritage.

Hotel leadership, project partners, and Ada’s community members gathered for the ribbon-cutting ceremony, providing the first look at what is destined to be a beloved fixture in the village. Owned by Cheri DeVos, founder of Baton Collective, the Ada Hotel represents a thoughtful blend of luxury and local history.

“The original Ada Hotel, built in the late 1800s, was a significant landmark in Ada,” said Loren Crandell, CEO, Baton Collective. “It served as a central hub for social life in the Village, and we hope to recapture that spirit with this hotel and its restaurants.”

Managed by AHC Hospitality, and designed with the collaboration of First Companies, OTJ, and Dixon Architecture, the hotel embodies Baton Collective’s commitment to community-driven development.

“Ada Hotel is a wonderful compliment to what this community already offers,” said Rick Winn, President, AHC Hospitality. “We envision it as more than just a place to stay; it will be the heartbeat of the community. We look forward to guests experiencing the unique charm and warm hospitality that the hotel offers.

The hotel introduces two distinct dining experiences that pay homage to Ada’s rich heritage. Rix, an upscale dining venue on the third floor, is named in honor of Rix Robinson, Ada’s founding father. With expansive windows and a three-season outdoor terrace, Rix offers a sophisticated atmosphere ideal for everything from celebratory dinners to casual cocktails. The menu is a culinary journey around the world, with dishes crafted from local ingredients that tell the story of the region’s bounty.

On the ground floor, The Post Tavern takes its inspiration from the original Ada Trading Post of the late 1800s. This 110-seat restaurant offers a relaxed, welcoming environment perfect for lunch, game-day gatherings, or a family meal. A standout feature is the “Sip It Forward” program—a thoughtful initiative where patrons can pre-purchase a drink for a friend, leaving a postcard behind for them to discover on their next visit.

Each room at Ada Hotel is a masterclass in thoughtful design. While a cohesive theme runs throughout, subtle details ensure that no two rooms are exactly alike. Families can enjoy rooms with playful layouts, including bunk beds for the kids, while executives might opt for rooms featuring stationary bikes to blend productivity with relaxation. For those seeking tranquility, rooms with private balconies or patios offer stunning views of Legacy Park and the Thornapple River.

From the moment guests step into the first-floor lobby, they’re greeted by warm, inviting spaces. Floor-to-ceiling windows showcase the natural beauty of Ada, while custom lounge seating invites relaxation. The second-level atrium provides additional space to unwind or work, with comfortable seating and a fitness center ensuring guests have everything they need for a balanced stay.

As Ada Village continues to flourish, the Ada Hotel stands as a testament to the community’s vision and vitality—a place where history and modernity converge, creating an inviting haven for both residents and visitors alike.

“Our vision was to create a hotel that feels warm, welcoming, and inviting—a place where you can truly feel at home,” said Cheri DeVos, owner of Ada Hotel. “We want our guests to experience the charm of Ada and discover what makes this community a wonderful place to live, work, play, and now, stay.”
