A local co-working space will debut its second quarterly market this month.
Little Space Studio, a co-working space for freelancers and creative professionals, is hosting a midsummer market from 12-5 p.m. Sunday, July 17, at the Harris Building, 111 S. Division Ave. in Grand Rapids.
The event will feature 30 local and emerging makers selling handmade goods in a bazaar-style shopping environment. This market’s lineup includes Solstice Handmade, a local printmaker offering clothing, cards, home goods and accessories; Boheme Body Art, a temporary tattoo artist; and ArtPrize 2021 top 25 artist Gantz Illustration.
Shoppers also can enjoy coffee and treats from The Mortals Café and Confection.
“I am looking forward to hosting our biggest and best artisan market to date,” said Jackie Greaves, hospitality manager for Little Space Studio and market organizer. “Our vendors are so talented and unique from one another. Shoppers can expect to see jewelry, pottery, prints, body art and so much more. It is truly a market for anyone and everyone.”
The midsummer market is Little Space Studio’s second market event this year. This past April, the co-working studio hosted a sustainability market and plant swap and will continue its quarterly markets with events in October and December.
“Being our first, we weren’t entirely sure what to expect,” Greaves said of the sustainability market. “Experiencing the community come together and support our local artist(s) and makers was so inspiring, and we are proud to offer this event on an ongoing basis.”
