In celebration of the Frauenthal Theater’s 90th anniversary, the Frauenthal Center teamed up with Pigeon Hill Brewing Company to create a special batch of German weiss beer, the Frau Brau.
“We are excited to partner with Pigeon Hill Brewing Company to develop the Frau Brau,” said Eric Messing, executive director of the Frauenthal Center. “Our hope is that everyone can enjoy a cold Frau Brau and cheers to the Frauenthal Theater as we celebrate 90 years.”
In an effort to reflect the West Michigan community, the Frauenthal Center team collaborated with local artists to create a commemorative can label for the Frau Brau. Graphic designer Lou Jeannot, of Low Rez Lab, conceptualized and designed the label, with key architectural pieces — including the theater’s Spanish renaissance-influenced proscenium — illustrated by Jubenal Rodriguez.
“The Frauenthal is a West Michigan staple,” said Michael Brower, co-founder of Pigeon Hill Brewing Company. “In true community spirit, this collaboration was both refreshing and inspiring to produce in an effort to recognize the Frauenthal Theater’s milestone 90th anniversary.”
From 5-7 p.m. Oct. 16, Frau Brau will be on tap and available in limited-edition six-packs at Pigeon Hill’s Taproom, 500 W. Western Ave., Muskegon.
