Lipstick Jodi, a Grand Rapids trio led by nonbinary songwriter, vocalist and guitarist Karli Morehouse, released their latest single “Don’t Wanna Know.”

The track will be featured on the band’s sophomore album “More Like Me” and can be streamed on Spotify and Apple Music. The album is set to be released June 4.

Morehouse said “Don’t Wanna Know” is an exploration of childhood, teenage complexity and early adulthood angst played by synths, guitar-fuzz and propulsive drums.

“The first demo I made of ‘Don’t Wanna Know’ was the first spark of Lipstick Jodi’s renewal for me,” Morehouse said of the new song. “It seemed like the light at the end of a really long tunnel. I was feeling stuck in time in the eyes of the people around me; like I was being judged constantly for my past.

“I felt like no one wanted to know me past surface level or know me for who I really was and who I would become.”

Lipstick Jodi was featured in “40 New Artists You Need To Hear In April”, a list curated by Alternative Press released earlier this year.
