The Fulton Street Farmers Market is inviting the public to a free community celebration next week to mark the arrival of summer and the market’s 100th season.

The farmers market said it will host the community at a nonmarket Summer Solstice Celebration, at which vendors will include food trucks, musicians and artists, but no farmers, from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, at the market, 1145 E. Fulton St. in Grand Rapids.

“We welcome everyone to come celebrate 100 years of food, farming, art and community,” the market said. “… This is a celebration we want our farmers, food producers and artisans to attend and enjoy themselves while mingling with each other and the community.”

The all-ages, family-friendly event is free and will feature a kids’ craft activity hosted by The Monstorium, an artisan market vendor. Four musicians who are regular performers at Saturday markets will provide live music throughout the evening. Fae Floral will create a flower archway for participants to pose under for selfies and group shots.

Beer, seltzer and cider will be available for purchase, and the market will release a signature centennial beer — the Solstice Sambucus, an elderberry basil Saison created in collaboration with two market vendors and crafted by Speciation Artisan Ales.

Concessions will be sold by Street Chef Shaw, Los Jalapeños, Agua Fresca, Momma D’s Kitchen, Around Baking Company, Ollie’s Donuts, Any Colour You Like Popsicles and Tor’s Tonics.
