A small community bank is making a difference for families in need this winter season with its “Blanket the Community” project, now in its fourth year.

United Bank, a small community bank founded in Wayland in 1887, has collected 700 blankets this year to distribute to community members in need.

“We are so proud of the enthusiasm and how everyone came together to make this effort a
success.” said Joe Manica, president of United Bank which has 12 branches throughout West Michigan.

United Bank is thankful to all who showed kindness and support and generosity in helping to provide for people in need in the community.

“These gifts were so much more than a warm blanket. It was a reminder to our neighbors that they are not alone during a difficult time, and that their community cares about them,” Manica said.
