Two Grand Rapids landmarks will be among more than 225 around the world that will shine a light on breast cancer.
McKay Tower and Amway Grand Plaza will join the 2021 #LightUp campaign by illuminating their buildings in green, teal and pink at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, to raise awareness and funding for metastatic breast cancer (MBC), also known as stage four or advanced breast cancer, research.
In addition to illuminating landmarks, there will be a #LightUpMBC Live event, where individuals will share their personal stories with MBC. Musicians such as Kristin Chenoweth, Tom Morello, Rob Thomas and JD Eicher will perform to raise funds for metastatic breast cancer research.
The public can livestream the event on LiveXLive.com, YouTube, Facebook and metavivor.org.
