An annual event in support of local restaurants will return next month.

Experience Grand Rapids said Tuesday, Oct. 12, its 12th annual Restaurant Week Grand Rapids will run from Nov. 5-13.

Experience GR is bringing back its digital pass program for Restaurant Week GR to offer dining incentives and to support the 50-plus participating local restaurants.

“Restaurants still face many challenges from the past year-and-a-half,” said Janet Korn, senior vice president for Experience GR. “We’ve made this year’s event a celebration of local food and a way for people to support our restaurants while also making it easier for businesses to participate.”

Like last year, restaurants are not required to create a special menu to participate. Instead, restaurants offer an incentive promotion that can be used on a future visit.

How it works

Customers will access the Restaurant Week GR digital pass on their smartphones. They can use the pass to check in at participating restaurants and will receive a one-time use coupon for their next visit at every restaurant they check into, redeemable until Dec. 30.

Diners who check into three or more restaurants will earn a special foodie-themed gift from Experience GR. More details about the pass will be announced closer to the event.

The digital pass will be available on Experience GR’s website later this month to download ahead of Restaurant Week GR.
