If children’s book illustrations are your thing, a trip to the lakeshore might be in order.

The Muskegon Museum of Art will launch its “20 for 20: Celebrating Michigan Illustrators” exhibition on Jan. 16. The show is scheduled to run through April 19.

The exhibition features original artworks such as paintings, drawings, collages and digital creations by 20 children’s book illustrators from across the state.

“The exhibition celebrates the diversity found amongst illustrators here in Michigan and sets a precedent for beyond,” said Courtney Jackson, MMA curator of education.

There will be an opening reception from 5:30-7:30 p.m., Jan. 16, at the museum, 296 W. Webster Ave. in downtown Muskegon. Snacks will be available.

For more information, including the names of the illustrators, visit the Muskegon Art Museum website.
