The West Michigan Whitecaps are inviting fans to help decide who makes it to the team’s Hall of Fame.
Fans can vote for up to three former Whitecaps players, managers, coaches and/or others who have made contributions to the organization to be inducted in the West Michigan Whitecaps Hall of Fame Class of 2022.
Players and coaches must be out of the organization for a minimum of five years. Players are judged by their entire individual careers with an emphasis on their achievements while with the Whitecaps.
Nominees also will be judged on their impact on the community, character, sportsmanship and integrity. The winners will be determined by a committee that include the organization’s front office members, local media personalities and fan votes.
“Over the years, we’ve found this to be a special moment for the recipients and the Whitecaps,” said Jim Jarecki, Whitecaps general manager and vice president. “When the community votes you in, it comes with a lot of pride. It continues to be a fun tradition for West Michigan.”
Voting will end at 5 p.m. Oct. 29. The Hall of Fame Class of 2022 will be inducted at next year’s annual “Step Up to The Plate” winter gala.
