Harmony Brewing Company is gearing up to celebrate the holidays with special events at both of its locations.

Annual Eastown holiday tree-lighting ceremony

As part of Uptown Shop Hop and in partnership with the Eastown Community Association, Harmony will host the annual holiday tree lighting party at its Eastown location, at 1551 Lake Drive SE in Grand Rapids, from 6-9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2.

The event will feature live music, hot chocolate for kids and a beer tent in the parking lot. The main event will be the lighting of the tree by special guest City Commissioner Milinda Ysasi at 7 p.m.

Community members are encouraged to bring an ornament for the tree that represents their holiday traditions.

Pitchers with Santa Toy Drive

Santa will make an appearance at Harmony Hall, at 401 Stocking Ave. NW in Grand Rapids, from 2-5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11.

Kids can get their pictures taken with Santa while parents split a discounted pitcher of delicious Harmony Brew. Attendees are asked to bring a new toy, valued at $10 or above with the price tag still attached. Toys will be collected and donated to the Other Way Ministries Christmas Store.

“The Christmas Store is a neighbor-led program giving parents a chance to shop for new, desirable Christmas gifts for their children at little or no cost to them,” the Other Way Ministries said. “Christmas can be a financially stressful time for families and, especially this year, we hope to provide some relief, leaving more room for our West Side families to feel the joy of the holiday season.”
