Community members of all ages are invited to the annual Santa Show on Saturday, Dec. 2 at the historic Wealthy Theatre.

From noon-3 p.m., attendees will enjoy an afternoon caroling with Santa Claus and hearing from special guests including representatives from Blandford Nature Center, Grand Rapids Fire Department, Grand Rapids Police Department and Playground GR. The show will be broadcast live on Comcast cable channel 25 and Twitch from 1-2 p.m.

Children are encouraged to join Santa on stage to ask him questions and share their holiday wish lists. They will also have the option to write down their wish lists on a card for Santa and drop them off at GRTV, 711 Bridge St. NW, or Wealthy Theatre, 1130 Wealthy St. SE by 3 p.m. Dec. 2.

A crafting table will also be available in the lobby from 2-3 p.m. The Wealthy Theatre concession stand will be open during the event, serving popcorn, soft drinks and hot cocoa for purchase.

“We look forward to hosting this event every year, bringing holiday cheer to our community,” GRTV Station Manager Ted Diedrich said. “GRTV, Wealthy Theatre and the Grand Rapids Community Media Center thank our community partners who make this event possible.”

Toys for Tots Kent County and the Grand Rapids Public Library will be providing goodie bags to participants.

Additional community partners for this event include Congress Elementary School, East Hills Council of Neighbors and Grand Rapids Public Museum.

GRTV is the public access television station of Grand Rapids, and a program of the GRCMC, which also includes WYCE, The Rapidian, Wealthy Theatre and web services. GRTV was founded in 1980 and broadcasted its first live show in 1982. It provides a televised, free speech, non-commercial platform for the Grand Rapids community.

Registration for this free event can be found online or people can register in person on Dec. 2.
