The Grand Rapids Griffins will host a two-week summer camp for young hockey players.

The youth hockey summer camp will begin in July in West Michigan for children ages 6-14.

The first camp will be from 8:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Monday through Friday, July 18-22, at Griff’s IceHouse, at Belknap Park, 30 Coldbrook St. NE in Grand Rapids.

The second camp will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday, Aug. 15-19, at Griff’s IceHouse West, at 4444 Holland Ave. in Holland.

Camp instructors will be Griffins assistant coach Matt Macdonald and right wing Dominik Shine. Grand Rapids assistant coach and 16-year National Hockey League veteran Mike Knuble and captain and defenseman Brian Lashoff also will make appearances.

“We have taken great pride in providing kids and families with an affordable week’s worth of hockey with valuable instruction, tons of fun and the best lunches anywhere,” said Bob Kaser, vice president of community relations and broadcasting for the Griffins. “We are especially excited about returning to Holland for a second-straight summer after a highly successful first-ever camp there last year.”
