Blandford Nature Center is hosting a free, all-ages event highlighting 16 local artists.
The Fall Nature Makers Market event will be at the nature center located at 1715 Hillburn Ave. NW, from 9 a.m.-3p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13. Registration is not required.
Event vendors include Solstice Handmade, Wildship Studio, Runaway Press, Sue VanDame Jewelry, E-scape Art Glass, Birds of the Air Gifts, Nature Walk Studio, Ghost Forest Resin Works, J6R6 LLC, I Love Rocks!, Smiling Bird Studio, LIEFdesign, Momma & Mae Bean, Mark of Natur and Red Hydrant Press.
Local artists will offer a variety of products either inspired by nature or featuring natural or sustainable materials. Products include textiles, prints, ceramic, glassworks, jewelry, stationery and stickers.
“We’re so excited to be hosting another Nature Makers Market just in time for the holidays,” said Ashley Day, program manager at Blandford Nature Center. “This time of year is so important to support local businesses and artists, and we’re glad we can be a part of connecting these awesome local vendors to more people in our community.”
COVID-19 protocols are in place, including the requirement of a mask in all indoor spaces regardless of vaccination status. With building capacity in mind, the market will be held in multiple buildings, including the Mary Jane Dockeray Visitor Center, Star Schoolhouse, Learning Lab and Environmental Education Center. Building capacities will be monitored, and visitors will follow a one-way flow of traffic through the market to limit contact with other shoppers.
Blandford Nature Center’s gift shop will be open during the event, and R.B. Stilwil Blacksmith Shop will offer made-to-order blacksmith items from a local volunteer.
Visitors are welcome to explore trails or visit wildlife at the nature center following the event, with a $3 general admission fee required for non-members.
