AHC Hospitality and CDV5 Properties have shared design concepts of a distinctive new hotel property opening next spring in the greater Grand Rapids area.

Previously known during the planning process as Ada House, the three-story, 37,000-square-foot, 36-room hotel is currently under construction in the heart of Ada Village.

AHC currently owns a collection of impressive properties, including the Amway Grand Plaza, the award-winning restaurant MDRD, Seraphina Day Spa, AC Hotel by Marriott, a British Virgin Islands resort and several other hotels. The hospitality group prides itself on the creation of innovative alternatives to the traditional hospitality experience, and seeks to exceed expectations of guests.

“We are eager to offer this level of facility to leisure and business travelers who have long sought such an option in this area,” said George Aquino, vice president and managing director of AHC Hospitality, which has settled on a name for the establishment –  Ada Hotel – paying homage to a historic hotel of the same name that used to be located in the village.

“The Ada Hotel of the early 1900s was an approachable place for everyone to enjoy. It seems only fitting that this new facility shares the same name, while hoping to bring the same excitement to the village as the original hotel,” Aquino said.

Steve Ehmann and Cheri DeVos Ehmann are the owners of Ada Hotel and their company, CDV5 Properties, is the primary retail developer of Ada Village.

“We envision this hotel being the centerpiece of the village, just like the original historic Ada Hotel was to early settlers of the area,” said Steve Ehmann.

The property will feature two new restaurants, each with indoor and outdoor seating.  Located on the first floor, The Post Tavern, will be a 110-seat family friendly pub serving an extensive array of artisanal and local craft beers and elevated tavern fare. Rix, named after the “Founding Father of Ada,” Rix Robinson, will be located on the third floor, offering 130-seats and terrace seating.

“We hope the hotel will serve as a warm and welcoming gathering space for families, friends and out-of-town guests,” said Cheri DeVos Ehmann.

A guest lounge and fitness center will also be located within the hotel, scheduled to open in the second quarter of 2024.
