Some businesses are built to last a season. Others are built to last generations. For the Russo family, the story began in 1902, when a 17-year-old Sicilian immigrant named G.B. Russo arrived in West Michigan with little more than determination, faith, a deep love for his Italian heritage, and the belief that food brings people together.
That humble beginning grew into Russo Italian Restaurant + Market, now proudly celebrating 124 years as the oldest Italian American family business in West Michigan. The mission remains unchanged: honor the past, care for the community, and welcome everyone like family.
After a hiatus, CEO and fifth-generation owner Greg Russo helped to bring the family business back to Tanger Outlets. Today, the restaurant is run by fourth- and fifth-generation owners John, Greg, Mike, Dominic, and Stephanie (Scott) Russo.
Now, 124 years later, the table is still set, the market and deli are fully stocked — and everyone is still welcome.
