The Bridge Grand Rapids began its monthlong series of entertainment activities downtown and throughout the city.

The Bridge is an initiative intended to provide Grand Rapids residents with safe alternatives to the many events canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, these events are intended to serve as platforms for community conversations on social justice and equity.

Some of the events include Storytime GR in the Park (6-8 p.m. Tuesday in Lincoln Park), a Stomp Out Stigma Virtual Walk for Mental Health (Thursday; participants may walk where they are throughout the day), and a dance party at Rosa Parks Circle featuring DJ AB (7-10 p.m. Friday).

The events will help support the city’s economic recovery and restoration of community life. All activities will follow state safety guidelines for social distancing, limited capacity and sanitation.

More events and details regarding COVID-19 safety protocols are available at thebridgegr.com.
