The zoo has re-opened its doors.
John Ball Zoo opened for the 2019 season on Saturday.
The season will continue through the fall and feature over 2,000 animals, including tigers, lions, chimpanzees and pandas.
There will be numerous new arrivals this season: the toco toucan, meerkats, cape porcupine, red panda, six-branded armadillo, giant Pacific octopus, giant anteater, Geoffroy’s spider monkey, Von der Decken’s hornbill, an observation beehive and a lake sturgeon.
Visitors can view frogs and chimps in their day rooms, interact with penguins and pelicans by feeding them, learn about the zoo’s ambassador animals and see the indoor aquarium.
The zoo will also offer several outdoor activities, such as a zip line, sky trail ropes course, camel rides, petting corral and others when the weather gets warmer.
The zoo will be open every day through Nov. 3.
