Kids’ ArtFest at GR Children’s Museum

Get the whole family in the spirit of ArtPrize at the Grand Rapids Children’s Museum Kids’ ArtFest.

Kids’ ArtFest gives children of all ages (and their parents) hands-on experiences with a variety of art mediums, including paint, pastel drawing, sculpture, print making and jewelry making.

In addition, there will be a variety of performances at the entertainment stage, including magicians, a Tae Kwon Do demonstration, Irish dance, musicians and more.

The festival takes place at Grand Rapids Children’s Museum along Sheldon Avenue and Library Street on Sunday, Sept. 24 from noon to 5 p.m. All outdoor activities are free. A discounted $6 admission will be charged to play inside the museum.

Hand to the Dam Bike Ride

Rockford Brewing Co. is partnering with The Mitten Brewing Co. on an all ages group bike ride.

This Sunday, meet at The Mitten for brunch and beer at 10:30 a.m., then hop on your bike and ride the 12-mile trail to Rockford to enjoy music, beer and a beer brat bar at Rockford Brewing’s Harvest Festival beer tent.

The beer tent is open noon to 5 p.m., with live music from An Dro! at 1 p.m. Admission to the beer tent is free, while food and drink tickets are available for purchase.

Down Dog & Donuts

Imagine the delicious taste of free donuts and cider following a good workout.

This Saturday you don’t have to imagine, you can experience it. Seva Yoga has teamed up with Robinette’s Apple Haus & Winery to offer an outdoor yoga session on the lawn at Robinette’s.

Down Dog Yoga begins at 9 a.m. and is free for Seva members and $5 for non-members. Pre-registration is recommended but not required. Cash-only if paying day of.
