The Grand Rapids Griffins will offer several seasonal promotions at upcoming games.
The team will host their annual Teddy Bear/Mitten Toss Game against the Chicago Wolves at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 26, at Van Andel Arena, 130 W. Fulton St. in Grand Rapids.
Fans can bring new, store-tagged teddy bears, stuffed animals and mittens to throw onto the ice, after the Griffins score their first goal. Donations will benefit the Billy Bear Hug Foundation, which supports critically ill children, and other Grand Rapids organizations.
Grand Rapids-based Transplant Life Foundation will be at the concourse table, next to section 102, to register donors and provide information on organ, eye and tissue donations. Fans who are organ recipients, living donors and registered donors will be recognized during a first-period timeout.
Fans also can bring ice skates to participate in a post-game open skate.
After any Friday game, fans can ride the Rapid for free by showing their tickets to that day’s game.
College students can purchase an upper-level, face-off ticket for $13 or an upper-level, center-ice ticket for $16 every Friday game using their school email addresses or their student IDs, courtesy of Michigan First Credit Union.
Through November, fans can support U.S. service members by writing unsealed thank-you cards and dropping them at guest services on the arena concourse outside section 104. Those who do can enter to win tickets to Trans-Siberian Orchestra on Dec. 5 or Dierks Bentley on March 3.
Griffins will offer $2 beers and hot dogs 6-8 p.m. every Friday game, while supplies last.
