A holiday tradition is returning to Gaslight Village.

The East Grand Rapids holiday tree lighting ceremony will be at 5 p.m. Nov. 26, at Regatta Plaza, at 2181 Wealthy St. SE in Gaslight Village.

“After taking a year off to help keep the community safe and healthy, we’re looking forward to again kicking off the holiday season in Gaslight Village,” said East Grand Rapids Mayor Katie Favale.

Community members of all ages are invited to the lighting of the 30-foot Christmas tree and to participate in different activities. The event will include an appearance by Santa Claus and his reindeer, carriage rides, s’mores and crafts.

“Between all the activities, treats and cheer, everyone will find something to get them in the spirit,” Favale said. “I’d like to extend a special thank you to all the Gaslight Village business owners who, after a very challenging 19 months, came together to make sure this event could again illuminate our city.”
