Four things to do in West Michigan this weekend

From a stylish night out in Grand Rapids to Lindsey Stirling’s high-energy live show, a community celebration in Wyoming and three days of aviation action in Muskegon, there’s plenty happening across West Michigan this weekend. Here are four events to add to your calendar.

Friday, Aug. 21

Little Black Dress

Get dressed up for one of Grand Rapids’ signature girls’ nights out. Little Black Dress returns to the JW Marriott Grand Rapids for an evening featuring a runway fashion show by The James Boutique, live music and dancing with DJ Rock City, specialty cocktails, VIP lounges and immersive photo opportunities. A portion of proceeds benefits Michigan Women Forward, supporting women entrepreneurs and leaders across Michigan.

The event runs from 8 p.m. to midnight at the JW Marriott Grand Rapids, 235 Louis St. NW, Grand Rapids. Tickets are available HERE.

Friday, Aug. 21

Lindsey Stirling: Duality Untamed Tour 2026

Violinist, dancer and aerialist Lindsey Stirling brings her Duality Untamed Tour to Grand Rapids Friday night. Known for blending classical violin with electronic music, elaborate choreography and theatrical visuals, Stirling will perform with special guest PVRIS. Tickets range from $43 to $211, and the show is open to all ages.

Saturday, Aug. 22

Unity in Motion Festival

The Unity in Motion Festival is heading to Wyoming for an expanded back-to-school celebration. The community-focused event will feature outdoor activities, hands-on demonstrations, spoken word performances and opportunities to connect with local organizations. Families can check out outdoor skills demonstrations from the Out Your Backdoor Foundation and other activities throughout the festival.

The festival takes place Saturday at Gezon Park in Wyoming. Admission is free.

Wings Over Muskegon Air Show

Take to the skies—or at least get a good view of them—during Wings Over Muskegon. The three-day air show at Muskegon County Airport features thrilling aerial performances, military aircraft displays and family-friendly aviation activities. It’s a full weekend of aircraft, demonstrations and high-flying entertainment for aviation fans of all ages.

The event runs Aug. 21-23 at Muskegon County Airport, 99 Sinclair Drive, Muskegon. Wings Over Muskegon Air Show carload admission is free this year, but you must reserve a pass online in advance HERE.
