UPDATE (2:44 p.m. Monday, May 24, 2021): Downtown Holland announced the Street Performer Series will take place Thursday evenings from 6:30-8:30 p.m. from June 17 through Aug. 19.

Downtown Holland is accepting applications from performing artists and groups that are interested in participating in the annual Street Performer Series later this summer.

Those interested must apply and submit audition materials online by May 28.

“We are very hopeful that we will still be able to host the annual Street Performer Series in downtown Holland this summer,” said Kara de Alvare, Downtown Holland marketing coordinator. “The Street Performer Series is one of our most popular events, and we know so many members of our community and visitors to the area look forward to it each summer, but the health and safety of our community is our top priority.”

Performers must be 18 years of age or older to apply, and groups currently are being limited to four members to allow for social distancing.

Traditionally, the Street Performer Series is held on Thursday evenings from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in June, July and August with a lineup of musicians, jugglers, caricature artists, dancers, magicians and more. A start date for the event has not yet been determined, but a decision is expected to be made in May, according to Downtown Holland.
