Celebration Cinema announced the creation of pop-up drive-ins at two of its theater locations.
The drive-in at the Grand Rapids North location, 2121 Celebration Drive NE, opens Friday, and the Lansing location, 200 E. Edgewood Blvd., opens Saturday.
“Black Panther” will be the opening movie for the weekend, which will start at dusk. The names of additional movies will be released per week throughout the summer and fall.
The drive-ins will use alternate spaces in the Celebration Cinema parking lots. Guests can watch movies outside of their cars while keeping 6 feet of distance between other groups of guests. Guests can listen to the movies through an FM radio signal.
The restrooms and concession stands will be available for guests, but there will be a limit to the number of guests who can enter the building at a time. A mask will be required, and Celebration Cinema will not be accepting cash.
The cost is $30 per car, and tickets can be purchased online or through credit card transactions. Online convenience fees will be waived.
