River Bank Run fast approaching

    There’s a bank run coming to Grand Rapids. No, not that kind of bank run, the largest 25K road race in the country – the Amway River Bank Run. The annual run will take place in downtown Grand Rapids Saturday, May 13. The race offers the only 25K Wheelchair racing division in the world along with a 25K handcycle division. In addition to the 25K, participants can choose to participate in a 10K run or a 5K run.

    The River Bank Run also serves as the It is also the site of the USA Track & Field 25K National Championship, bringing in elite athletes from across the country. The USATF is the national governing body for track and field, long distance running and race walking in the U.S.

    The start staging is on Ottawa Avenue near Lyon St. Community members are invited to celebrate with other Amway River Bank Run participants, friends, family and volunteers at the Finish Fest inside Devos Place (Hall A)  from 7:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.

    The run takes place Saturday, May 13,  6 a.m. – 2 p.m. through the downtown Grand Rapids streets, Calder Plaza, DeVos Place and more. Course maps can be accessed here.
