Ringo Starr has plans to perform in Grand Rapids on October 3, 2023. Born Richard Starkey in Liverpool, England in 1940, the 82-year-old Beatles drummer was knighted for his services to music in 2018 by the Duke of Cambridge at a ceremony at Buckingham Palace, earning him the title “Sir” Richard Starkey.

Joining him on the tour are Steve Lukather, Colin Hay, Edgar Winter, Warren Ham, Hamish Stuart and Gregg Bissonette.

“Well, I love to play. I love an audience,” Ringo told Executive Editor Andy Gensler of Pollstar, a trade publication for the concert and live music industry. “This is a known fact. I love the audience, they love me. We have fun on tour. That’s what it’s all about. I don’t do this to be miserable. I have a lot of joy. I get a lot of joy and I just love doing it…..and I’ll be doing a lot of peace and love in your city soon, May, June, look me up!”

Tickets go on sale Friday, May 12 at 10 a.m. at DeVosPerformanceHall.com.
