The City of Grand Rapids today announced that City-owned pools and splash pads will open Friday, June 9. Pools will be open daily through Aug. 19. Splash pads will be open daily through Sept. 10.
Admission for City pools is $1 for Grand Rapids residents 17 and under, $3 for Grand Rapids residents over 17, $3 for nonresidents 17 and under, $5 for nonresidents over 17. There will be 10-hole punch cards available for $8 for residents and $18 for nonresidents. 20-hole punch cards are available for $15 for residents and $25 for nonresidents. Season passes for families up to six people are $80 for residents and $90 for nonresidents.
City splash pads are free to use for all visitors.
Open swim hours at Briggs Park pool (350 Knapp St. NE) and Martin Luther King Park pool (1200 MLK Jr. St. SE):
- Mondays from noon to 7 p.m.
- Tuesdays from noon to 7 p.m.
- Wednesdays from noon to 5 p.m.
- Thursdays from noon to 7 p.m.
- Fridays from noon to 7 p.m.
- Saturdays from noon to 7 p.m.
- Sundays from noon to 4 p.m.
Open swim hours at Richmond Park pool (1101 Richmond St. NW):
- Mondays from noon to 7 p.m.
- Tuesdays from noon to 7 p.m.
- Wednesdays from noon to 7 p.m.
- Thursdays from noon to 5 p.m.
- Fridays from noon to 7 p.m.
- Saturdays from noon to 7 p.m.
- Sundays from noon to 4 p.m.
All pool hours are weather dependent. Cancellations due to weather and maintenance will be announced on the Parks and Recreation Facebook page and the department’s cancellation hotline at 616.456.3699.
Additional recreation programming will be happening in and near the pools this summer, including:
- Paddle Board Basics at Richmond Park pool
- Free WERQ dance fitness on the Richmond Park pool deck
- Free Line Dancing on the Briggs Park pool deck
- Free Sunset Yoga on the Martin Luther King pool deck
- Water Aerobics at Briggs Park pool
- Youth Swim Lessons at all three pool locations
All three pools will be available for private rentals for up to 100 people. Rentals are only available on select Sundays from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. and cost $400. Rentals can be made online HERE.
City splash pads will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the following locations:
