Big event beckons 200 vendors

    One of the state’s largest flea markets is set for Sept. 23 and 24 at the Hudsonville Fairgrounds, 5235 Park Ave. in Hudsonville. The Farmgirl Flea Pickers & Makers will welcome more than 200 vendors and thousands of visitors to the annual fall flea market this Friday and Saturday, along with some notable musical entertainers. Jake Hoult & Band will perform on Friday and the and Mike Mclain will entertain the crowd on Saturday.

    The two-day-long event will offer many options for shoppers with vintage and handmade goods from across the USA and numerous food options: award-winning BBQ, donuts, tacos nachos, burgers, sandwiches, wraps, pizza, cupcakes, coffee, fresh squeezed lemonade, corn dogs, elephant ears, beer, wine, sangria and more.

    “It’s a great opportunity to stock up on all the fall decor and get a head start on Christmas shopping,” said Karen Mead, one of the event’s organizers.

    Day one of the fun, fall family event begins Friday, Sept. 23 at 4 p.m. and runs until 8 p.m. Hours on Saturday, Sept. 24 are 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

    Tickets can be purchased at www.farmgirlflea.com or at the gate upon arrival.  Prices are $15 for Friday and Saturday or $5 for Saturday only. Kids 12 and under are free.
