Anyone who has been inspired to create art while visiting Meijer Gardens may want to take note. A call for entries has been announced for the Ray and Nancy Loeschner Art Competition, which seeks works representative of the beauty of Meijer Gardens.

The competition is open to all 18+ artists who work in two-dimensional formats. There will be two separate prizes awarded: one for best art piece and another for the best photography submission. The prize is $5000 for each winner.

In addition, the winning art pieces will  become part of the Meijer Gardens permanent collection.

The annual competition has been in existence since 2002, resulting in a collection of high-quality artwork that celebrates the inspiration that Meijer Gardens provides artists of all genres.

Artists can submit drawings, prints, pastels, paintings or photography (any two-dimensional piece that can be framed and displayed).

Artists must register online by Friday, November 11. The winner will be chosen in January.
