The Grand Rapids Symphony is kicking off its 2018-2019 season this weekend with Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7.
With the help of a $1 million grant from the Wege Foundation, the Grand Rapids Symphony is creating a 21st-century orchestra to serve not only classical music lovers but the community as a whole.
The Grand Rapids Symphony and Chorus will take center stage at Carnegie Hall on April 20, playing a selection of beautiful, illustrious pieces by Brazilian, Spanish and French composers. But before taking off for the Big Apple, the orchestra will preview its playlist for Grand Rapids on April 13 and 14 at DeVos Performance Hall.
Violinist Sarah Chang made her debut with the New York Philharmonic when she was nine. Since that time, she’s performed and recorded with every major orchestra.
